The spiral or coil is produced on specialised equipment on which it is wound from spools of resistance wire and cut to length. The length of the coil is determined from the customer's heating requirements including wattage, heating length and watts density loading. The spiral assembly consists of a resistance coil with cold pins inserted into each end. The assembly is carried out automatically with the coils being picked up and placed on a walking bed. While transferring along the bed the cold pins are inserted into each coil and welded. To ensure termination quality, each weld is electronically monitored to specified parameters.
